Chelmsley Wood Baptist Church faith//hope//love

What are we like?

The majority of our church family are from Chelmsley Wood and possibly not the kind of people you meet in your average church.
This has the advantage that we don't carry a lot of traditional baggage, although of course, we have baggage of our own!

Our aim is to be a local church, growing out from the people here and growing our faith in ways that are natural for us. We don't always sit comfortably in the mainstream church, but we are part of God's church.

Here's what you can expect.....

It's difficult to hide as we are a fairly small congregation (about 50). For some people, being able to remain anonymous is helpful and, if that's where you're at on your spiritual journey, this may not be the place.
You will be noticed.
You can have a part to play in church family life.
You can have a voice as we explore faith, worship and following Jesus together.
We believe in a hands-on faith, it is to be lived.
You will be able to get stuck in.
You will find we like to work out our beliefs by doing, rather than by discussing (although we do discuss things!).
We are accepting of different viewpoints and understandings. We have a wide range of theological perspectives within the church, from conservative to liberal viewpoints. The only thing we can't tolerate is intolerance.
